I'm into long socks in a big way this season, worn pulled up over the knee, under boots, ruched down with ankle boots, under jeans as an added warm layer, they're just perfect.
The shop is bursting at the seams with socks at the moment, definitely one of our hottest items this season, customers can not get enough :) Here is a little sock inspiration........

Is it proper autumn yet? It's still so warm! I'm desperate to break out the scarves and boots......... you? We just had a mini tropical summer the last couple of weeks which threw up all kinds of wardrobe drama's! I mean for god's sake weather gods, In two months I will start to take delivery of Spring/Summer 2012 collections and we've not had a single frost yet, sheesh! ;)

So, it's been a very busy few months, insanely busy actually. I am trying to undertake the work of about 3 people plus take care of my family and have friends and a social life and you know what is isn't easy ;) I am trying to develop the business and keep everything and everyone ticking along, I sometimes worry that neglecting the blog is letting myself down but something has to give right?.

We have recently been on a family holiday which was blissful, we had a much needed rest and time together and we have realised how important it is to get away and have fun together and not be obsessed with the business. Amazing that we went away and nothing happened! No emergency's! No Drama's just lovely staff making great sales and having a blast looking after everything for me ;)

I have realised that I'm incredibly good at dishing out advice but not really good at listening to it myself. It is so important to have a life as well as a business, to cherish the time I have with L being young and to make sure we take time to have fun.

I am making a vow to make regular posts, they might not be profound and brilliant or terribly interesting but at least I'll be here and keeping it going, I am still here reading your blogs, I rarely have time to comment but I am reading! x

What Would Mary Poppins Do? I find that asking myself this question in all aspect of my life really helps. L is screaming about not being allowed to do something, Somebody is rude to me at work, I can't get anyone to help me whilst on the phone to some company or other or just one of the days where nothing seems to go right for me I just ask myself WWMPD? ;) I find I can then breath, straighten my back, smile, think kind, gentle, gracious thoughts and control the anger within. No one can ever outwit Mary Poppins because she is fully in control and one step ahead of the game all of the time. Perhaps a few reminders around the house would help us keep to our WWMPD ways.

We just had a delivery of these beautiful British made bags. Each bag made with an Antique German Flour Sack is a completely unique, one-off piece.
The 100% linen sacks date from as early as 1830-1940’s. Some are in perfect condition, while many have beautiful hand-stitched repairs and mends. These tell of the history of the fabric, and how much it has been cared for.
The black writing (which is different on every sack, and therefore different on every bag) states the farmers’ name, and in some cases, the date the sack was made. Sometimes this is still clearly legible, while often it is beautifully faded. I adore these bag and have been using one for a couple of weeks, attracting many comments and gasps of 'where did you get that bag!?' I love that! We only have a couple left in stock at present and you can view the available bags here

January always makes me want to have a really good sort out, to actually clean under furniture and wipe dust from skirting boards (is this just me?) Upon doing this I realise I have way too much 'stuff' and no where to put it. With this in mind, I really need to buy one of those multi drawer chests to put away all my jewellery, scarves, knick knacks etc. The one in the pic above would be completely perfect, I have a spot in the bay window just like that in my bedroom, just waiting for that perfect furniture to house all my 'stuff' so, any ideas where I will get such a piece? xx

Well, I never make them becuase I always break them. The usual, Join a gym, stop eating fattening food (as if) Stop spending money, start a proper savings account, work harder, earn more money, become a super parent blah blah blah......The fact is I'm not going to do any of those things because I'm me, and those things are not what I'm about. If I tell myself I'm not supposed to do something, guess what I'm going to want to do it more ;) So I think resolutions should be about being kinder to ourselves, here goes...

Making sure I take one afternoon a week to do exactly what I want to do without feeling guilty

I intend to work smarter not harder, meaning using my time wisely, learning to delegate and stop being a control freak and make sure what I'm doing is going to give me a proper return so I'm not wasting my time.

I intend to spend more quality time with L, I have that mother habit of when we are at home I say 'i'll play later, I just have to do this washing, finnish this ironing and make sure the kitchen is spotless' I figure all those things can wait and are not important during play time.

Thats leads me on to the other thing, I keep saying it but I really need some help at home. A cleaner, just to take some pressure off so I can come home to a tidy house just once or twice a week, bliss :)
I will also start believing in myself, I'm capable of anything when I put my mind to it (we all are) the only thing holding me back is that nagging voice that says 'but what if' and 'are you sure thats wise?' I have so many dreams, hopes and ambitions, the only thing stopping me.... is me.

It's always a shame when the Christmas holidays are over, the fairy lights come down, the tree looking sad and withered gets taken down and disposed of, you're down to the last remaining chocolates that no one likes and if you see another bottle of wine you think you may be sick...OK maybe it's a sweet relief when the holidays are over, normality and routine return. I have been ill over the last few weeks so I'm now desperate to get back to normal, get stuck into work and make some exciting changes in 2011.
So, Happy New Year to you, may 2011 be filled with surprises, excitement and inspiration.

Golden Yellow

I'm pretty obsessed with yellow right now...golden yellow. Yellow is so vibrant and warm and can lift almost any other colour. I really want to use yellow in the dining room, I have two old chairs that I got in a local antique shop recently that need quite a bit of work and think they would be perfect painted yellow. I will be working on the dining room next week in the spare time I have, the basics are there I just need to pull it all together. Do you have rooms like this, that never seem to get actually finished.

Christmas is Coming

I am beyond excited at the prospect of Christmas just around the corner...one of the best times of the year is going out to get the Christmas tree and spending a weekend adorning the house. Last year I made a very pitiful attempt at some handmade stars which were mocked beyond belief, this year I am going to 'try harder' and will post the results. I am slightly obsessed with wreaths this year, I will update the ones we already have with different ribbons and er..purchasing some new ones shhhhh. I will also be making some garlands from ribbons and tiny tiny ball balls, this I have already had a little practice at and thankfully it works well ;) Am I alone in my Christmas decorating obsession?

We will be going out to get our tree tomorrow evening, so excited! I will post the results from our, (ok, my) adorning after the weekend. xx

As crazy as my life gets I love keeping this little creative outlet going and will continue to try really hard but sometimes my little teeny brain just shuts down and says 'no Laura, you need to focus on work and your family and leave the blogosphere for a little while'.

Work is great, I'm loving everything that is going on right now! I am putting in 100% making sure that every square inch of the shop space is a creative, colourful, juicy place to visit. I want customers to really love shopping with me and to get the same buzz that I do from being there and that is taking massive amounts of work. I am also buying for spring 2011 right now so seriously I am about to implode with images, colours, fabrics, graphics etc etc.

I'm Sorry, Life is swamping me right now.... My mind is consumed with no other thoughts except juggling my daughter L who is now on school summer holiday until September along with my job which is hectic and stressful at this time of year. Think buying spring/summer 2011 collections, large cheques written, new stock arriving for autumn, updating wall displays, window designing, planning my strategy for Christmas (yep I just said Christmas)

Social engagements however fun are playing havoc with my evening routine of catching up on paperwork, my blog, my house! I really need a housekeeper, a PA, more staff in the shop, oh and a full time-live in nanny-would be fabulous but this is all very unlikely. My funds may stretch to a cleaner a few days a week but seriously how the heck do you find someone trustworthy to clean your house and not steal your diamonds?! * To be honest, I'm completely exhausted and would love to sleep for a week.

Entertaining L is pretty hard, she has got very used to being surrounded by friends at school everyday and now is crazy bored at home with just boring mummy. I am doing my best to get out and do stuff and arranging for her friends to visit but omg I really miss the days of L being completely content with just me for company instead of the 'oh mummy, when is my best friend coming?' constantly.

We have had a lovely few evenings out the last few days, the last being dinner at friends which turned messy but the most fun we've had in ages and Sunday was spent nursing a champagne hangover, I'm getting too old to drink that much and not expect to feel like crap the next day.

Iv got loads of things to post and show you, I just need to spend a few hours putting all the posts together and getting back to blogging. Just wanted you to know, I'm still here, still ok and will be back shortly. Hope all is well in your world? LosaLove XX

* obviously the only diamonds I own I wear every day so there are non to steal but I do have a lovely shoe and handbag collection that I really would like to keep!

What do you think of Pink in kitchens? I am a lover of Pink, you must know that by now? I don't love pink because it's girly and fluffy and I think that I am girly and fluffy because i definitely am not.....ok perhaps I am a little :) Pink is a really warm, welcoming, happy colour, it has depth and character and it is anything but boring and safe. I think I have pink in absolutely every room of the house, in fact if you think my house has a lot of pink you should see my shop!!! My kitchen is currently white with green wallpapered walls which was actually a temporary thing but has now stayed there for three years and I'm desperate to change, see my kitchen here. I keep looking around but am always drawn to pink for the kitchen and I cant be bothered to apologise for this anymore so there you are I'm going to be pinking my kitchen very soon. x

It's time I got myself organised. I currently work from where ever I happen to be sitting when I feel the need to get work done, this can be the sofa, the stool in the kitchen, I can be sitting at the dining room table, the cash desk in the shop or even in the car. I carry my folders and files around in my car and have absolutely no where to put anything. Whilst L is away with the in laws in a couple of weeks we will be moving her to a larger bedroom and I will be turning her old bedroom into my home office. Finally a place to put all my 'stuff' a place to sit and work that is quiet and finally I will able to say 'I am working from home today' Do you know what the best part about creating my new home office? It's also going to double up as a shoe room!! eeekkk!! elle deco

I'm really into gold taps at the moment, one of the reasons we haven't ripped out the bathroom we have at the moment is because I'm really quite fond of the taps, although I realise they have to go eventually due to leaking and having scum on them which no amount of cleaning will remove.

A Bedroom Chaise & The Moths

My Chair purchase No 25 this year to date (hmm, not really but almost )

I won this Chaise on Ebay, yes Ebay people!!! ok, I didn't technically win it, my mum won it for me as I asked her to scour around for the perfect chair/chaise/Sofa for my bedroom bay window space and she came up trumps! Mr Eden Rose picked it up after work last night and it fits perfectly. It is really old and needs some major work to the springs, the padding plus the pink velvet is a bit.... shall we say dated?? I'm now on the mission to find some beautiful fabric to upholster it in and bring it to life once again. Any ideas for me???!!!!

In other news today......my wardrobe has moths! I really didn't believe the what I thought was a myth of Moths but it turns out it's true. My knitwear has been eaten alive!!! I have a beautiful turquoise blue 100% cashmere wrap cardigan which is my favorite item, it is glam but comfortable, I wear it with jeans in the autumn as a little coat thingy, I sling it on when I get home from work for warmth and I even wear it over PJ's on Sunday mornings but now all of a sudden it's covered in little holes. It cost about 200 squid and now it's fudged!!! Not happy, it is one of many items that are ruined but this is the only item I'm gutted about :(

Thank god for my new Chaise purchase to cheer me up :)

Well, Happy Monday peeps.....Hope you had a lovely weekend?

We had a very interesting weekend, Saturday was Lilia's summer school fete where I managed to purchase and fill my car with second hand books that I was literally guilt tripped into buying (I'm a total sucker for an OAP and a pile of unloved books)I bought plants, pancakes, tons of raffle tickets, organic vedge grown by the children as part of their school project and all sorts of other things, totally random but now I feel like iv done my bit for a term and don't feel so guilty about not joining the PTA now :)

I had drinks at a friends house and started on the bubbly till very early in the morning, forgetting or in denial that I was getting up early to move furniture from my shop to my Mum's house eeek.

Sunday we watched the Welsh Border Morris Dancers who were dancing in Chepstow town all weekend, a sight to be seen for sure lol.
There was also duck racing, a picnic in Lilia's garden play house while it drizzled with rain and then supper with friends Sunday night which again after Mr Eden Rose had toddled home with Lilia escalated into much drinking and wobbling home in the early hours of this morning. This week I am going to remain sober and sensible and get some proper work done, perhaps :)

I'm not a shorts person, in fact I don't think I have actually worn shorts since I was at school and they were part of our sports uniform but lately I have been coming around to the idea and maybe that is because it is so hot here right now. Generally when it's this hot I am lying on a sun lounger in a bikini and the heat and humidity is wonderful but when you have to go to work and carry on with normal everyday life the heat is exhausting!! (I am most def not complaining though, J'adore Le summer) Anyway, the other day a lady walked into my shop looking very stylish and very cute in these shorts from Joules and I thought, 'I actually quite like em'...so there we go, I am a shorts lover for the first time in my life. What a revelation!! lol

Mr Eden Rose is an awesome daddy. Truley the best daddy that L could ever wish to have. He is a protector, a provider, a play mate. He is the sort of daddy that can jump on the tampoline with L for 2 hours, will spend a saturday afternoon with L baking a cake and decorating with barbi glitter, he will walk in from work at 6pm and spend an hour drawing cats for L to colour in and then he'll run the bath and play music so they can dance while the bubbles get really big!! Nobody makes L laugh as much as her daddy does, nobody reads bedtime stories the same way, nobody can scoop her up when she falls over and make her grazed knee better in seconds. L is a true daddy's girl in every possible sense, they have the kind of father daughter relationship you only see in hollywood films. Mr Eden Rose was never taught how to be this incredible father, it was instinctive. Mr Eden Rose is an incredible Father the moment he gingerly picked L up moments after she was born I knew he would be.

True. Having a very blah Day today. Can not get motivated. Sometimes I think we all need to have a day where brains switch off, perhaps this is when the real inspiration comes when we stop trying so hard to be clever and creative, it just sort of happens naturally. I would love to be hidden away at home today, feeling really introvert and miserable (for no reason what so ever) If you happen to stumble into my shop today and see a grumpy looking mare tidying up the sale rail at the back of the shop, this would be me, just ignore the sour face and cary on browsing, know that she is normally happy and helpful and normal service will resume Monday. I think I need a weekend off to get my brain thinking again.

Last night we went to pick out our favorite photographs to have printed from last week's photo session with Maz from Light and Day Photography and although we could have purchased all of them quite easily we have chosen one large canvas and 10 smaller prints. The prints come as a box set in a display box but i definitely want to display them somewhere. I have spent all day today obsessing about wall displays........ I am a sucker for symmetry and love the 9 frames perfectly aligned over the table.
Above obviously has way too many frames on one wall but then the haphazard shabby side of me would love to bring together the photographs in different style frames.

I kind of like the idea of making a long thin shelf somewhere and propping them up against a wall to change the arrangement now and again. This is quite informal and quirky. However, I would have the shelf further down the wall instead of nearly touching the ceiling. Am the only one who finds it incredibly irritating when people display their art work and photography really high up on the all, so high you have to crane your neck, what is that about??!!
This is lovely but the arrangement is giving me a slight headache, it's all out of proportion and off centre, eek. Like the purple frames though.

I think this is more me.....I love the collection displayed like this, large over sized white frames, white mounts and photographs. *sigh* Which do you think works the best?

New baby niece Alexis born 5 weeks early weighing only 5lbs. She is a few days old now and we can't see her yet as she is still in hospital (doing really well) but Mr Eden Rose is visting his brother tomorrow and is dropping a little baby sleep suit and card around to her mummy and daddy. So cute!!

Had a fab photo session with Maz from Light and Day Photography yesterday. It was so much fun, not scary at all, really relaxed and laid back and L being the natural poser and entertainer was in her element!!! I have alway's been really apprehensive about having a family portrait done as these usually look so cheesy and I thought I would feel awkward but with Maz it was nothing like that. We have only seen a few snap shots on Maz's blog here so cant wait to see the rest. If you are in the UK and fancy booking with Maz, she is lovely, i can totally recommend.

Today, I am off work, yay!! I am cutting up fruit for Lilia's infant school this morning then I have the rest of the day to myself, bliss. Have a blissful Monday peeps XX

This weekend is truley needed, it's been a hectic and very stressful week, what with L being away, Shop being quiet because of half term, late nights out on the Vino and lunch with lovely friends. I can't begin to tell you how exhausted I am, lol.
The weekend is an exciting one. We had a phone call from Mr ER's brother to say his wife is in labour 5 weeks early so.... tomorrow we may have a teeny weeny baby to visit, yay! L and I are going to plant some hanging baskets, (this will be a first for me so wish me luck) Tomorrow we have a photoshoot with Maz from www.lightanddayphotoblog.com Hoping we don't get as much rain as the weather people predict as I would love to get some lovely photgraphs of Lilia outside. Today has been a bank holiday in England and Wales (I'm not sure about Ireland) Sorry Scotland i know you miss this one.
I have had a lovely lazy day, waking up late and breakfast with coffee in bed. I decided to open up the shop, a friend brought me a glass of pimms to enjoy in the shop and i pottered about chatting to tourists and locals and read Elle decoration magazine. When i got home i decided it was too chilly for planting in the garden (hello summer, where did you go?)so i lay on the sofa and finished reading my book in between having little sleeps. It was blissful. L is with the in laws for a few days so my laziness is down to being child free and a little bored actually. It's no fun when L is nor around :(

Lost and the Rainy Weekend

It's raining, boo Hoo. I just know the sun is going to shine through soon, I can feel it! It always amazes me how the weather can change so drastically in just a day.

As you know, we watched the 'Lost' finale with friends last night and well, my verdict? I loved the episode, easily one of the best out of the whole six series but the last half an hour kind of ruined it for me. I wont say what happened in case you have yet to watch it but the end was an anti climax and a bit too slushy and mushy and a bit 'Hollywood' if you get what i mean. It was all long meaningful glances and hugs and kisses and non of the complex, gripping 'Lost' action and mystery that we have grown to love. I would have preferred a different ending that was more mystical and 'wow'. Having said that i really enjoyed it and was gripped the entire time. Have you watched it yet? did you watch the whole six series? let me know what you thought. One more thing, i really wanted to learn more about the time travelling, Widmore (sp) and his weirdo wife and this wasn't explained at all!!!!! Grrr. Lost rant over. I am actually in mourning today for the loss of Sawyer and Jack from my life, feeling very sad and depressed and it doesn't help that it's raining. Anyway, this weekend we have plans to help Mr Eden Rose's brother and his wife move house and then who knows, it's wide open and i kind of like that, it is also a bank holiday weekend!! exciting!!!

Last week went like this;

A burst pipe wrecked the dining room and bathroom above. I breathed slowly and flicked through my bathroom image files for inspiration.

My broadband stopped working at work with no help what so ever from so called technical support, I breathed again and changed provider.

Trying to work from home in the evening and then my home broadband went down for two days due to 'inexplicable line problems'. I actually almost cried.

I was locked out of my work's email account for a week!! For someone who doesnt usually get mad, i got mad!

My oven blew up even though it is still shiny and only a year old!

I had a massive vet bill for one of my cat's who likes to fight other cats, and loose! grrrrr.

To top it off on thursday i recieved a huge (i mean huge!) delivery of Avoca scarves, socks and gloves etc. I mean i ask you, it's May for god's sake. I have no choice but to store it all away untill september which is a total headache.

well, I'm happy to report that this week has started out wonderfully. Sunday was lovely, today had been blissful!

Lots of sun, breakfast out on the terrace, browsing around a garden centre and filling my tiny smart car to bursting point with flowers and plants. Filling the paddling pool for L after school, reading almost al of my new book (which is really very good and written by someone who lives locally, which i have only just found out by googling author, how odd) cups of tea and banana cake on the picnic rug and then a BBQ at my sisters house this evening. I'm back to work tomorrow and also very possitive i'm going to have a better week. Hope you have had a blissful Monday? XXX

Problems in my own home today,woke up as 5:30 this morning to the sound of rushing water to find we had a burst water pipe over the dining room. I'm talking, ruined ceiling, blown electrics, dining chair seat pads ruined, damaged chandelier. The wooden floor in the bathroom is soaked through and will have to be replaced so it has been a trying day today. On the plus side the sun is shining, i'm wearing a new odd molly top (because it's finally warm enough) and new shoes and i'm now picking out a new bathroom, there is always a silver lining! Today Mr Eden Rose and I have been sorting out my shop stock room. Clearing out old stock, reducing discontinued items for a little door stop sale, cleaning and dusting and working our little butts off. It feels great to sort things out and make space, it restores a little more order and calm to my life which is a must.
Tomorrow morning Mr ER is collecting an antique french bed that we won at auction from Bristol which is going to be a restoration project and then he will be in the garden, weeding, planting with L whilst I sit under the cherry blossom tree with a book to rest after such a tough week. Yes, today is voting day for the British People. Later i will be making my way to tick the ballot paper and make my vote counted. And do you know what? I still have absolutely no idea who to vote for!

The British media have don't nothing except report on which wife is wearing what and the fact David 'call me Dave' Cameron no longer wears a tie on the campaign trail to make him look..., perhaps more accessible and normal to the British people? i don't know.

All I know is i don't really trust any of them and the only one i do seem to warm to is the head of a party i very much doubt could run a country. I don't think I'm the only one in this dilemma, in fact almost everyone iv asked has said the same as me. There is so much scandal and lies and propaganda in all politics not just British and i feel like perhaps my opinion isn't my own opinion and maybe iv been brainwashed. Iv read the facts, the slander and I'm still so unsure. Perhaps we'll end up with a hung Parliament and end up voting again (this will probably happen). I'm thinking perhaps I'll walk in to the voting room, spin around a few times and who ever my pen lands on i will vote for, good idea? Perhaps not, i think that's how the BNP got so many seats in Europe. I will mull this one over all afternoon and vote this evening. Hope you have a good day lovelies X

It's my mum's birthday Saturday and i wanted to order her a nice cake (you've read about my lack of cake making skills!) So i googled 'cake maker chepstow' as you do. My search came up with The Chepstow Cupcake Company so i emailed to ask if she could possibly make my mum a cake and the lovely lady emailed back and said of course she could and she could deliver it Saturday afternoon. I emailed back my address which is number 11 of lets call it cupcake road and she emailed back to say 'oh how strange, i live at number 10! Now her house isn't next door, I'm not that ignorant to my neighbours but her house is opposite and down the road a little. In fact she has the very same house i wish i lived in, Grr! It made me realise that i don't talk to my neighbours enough, i had no idea a cupcake maker extraordinaire lived in my road and it's a small road! I only know my immediate next door neighbours and that's it so I'm positively going to make the effort to say hello and get to know my neighbours in a really old fashioned 'desperate housewife's style fashion ;)

This evening I was looking out of my bedroom window and saw a young boy being assaulted by a woman across the street from my house. The boy aged about 10 is living in the house opposite with his single mother and 4 brothers and sisters (hey, I'm not judging) The woman was in her forties had two friends with her and decided to grab the child, pulling his hair and scream at him for a while then swing him around and chuck him into the street. I grabbed the phone and dialed 999. In the two years we have lived in this house the area has always been quiet and respectable and now we have screaming banshee woman assaulting children in the street, where I'm from this is not Okay. Mr ER tutted at me and made some comment about how our cars will probably have the tyres slashed in the night now and i got angry and said that if he thought i was the sort of person who walks away from seeing that and not doing something then he really didn't know me at all. The police knocked on the door to ask what i saw and i explained what happened, they thanked me for calling them and i closed the door. I watched them walk over to the house, talk to the child on the doorstep for all of a minute and they then got in their car and drove off. They didn't even look for the woman or take a statement. Nothing! I can not believe that someone can behave like this towards a child and walk away like it's okay. This has been my first experience at exasperation with the police, society and the awful things that happen in this world that my stupid sheltered little life doesn't know anything about.

Urgh! Bad weekend. Mr ER was being nice brother and hosting his brothers stag weekend at our house. This meant that 14 guys were going to be sleeping in various parts of my lovely home making it all messy and smelly. Myself and Lilia slept at my mothers house a few miles away saturday night so i didnt have to witness the carnage. Aparently much fun was had by all on the saturday as they had gone to an outdoor adventure thingy in the forest (rope swings, zip wires, tree climbing, you get the idea) and i was even pleased when i popped home sunday morning and found the house is a reasonable condition, beer bottles were even in a recycling bag! I thought id leave them to it and took L off shopping for the day. Mr ER and the guys were going go karting in the afternoon so id be be free for some serious spending all day, yippee.
I got a phone call later in the afternoon from Mr ER's brother to say that someone had crashed into the side of Mr ER in the go kart and he was being taken by ambulance to Bristol Hospital. Alex said he was fine and just looked winded and was only going to hospital as a precaution and could i pick him up from the hospital as they hadn't finished their session. I drove to the hospital and totally expected him to be sitting up in the bed, laughing and flirting with the nurses but when i got there he was lying in the resusitation room with tubes and bleeping machines all over him. He was crying and shouting in agony and was shaking like a leaf from the shock. I almost collapsed in shock myself! At first the doctors thought he had ruptured something inside possibly the splean or kidneys but after a night in hospital with scans and x-rays they found he had 3 broken ribs and severe internal bruising, nothing ruptured thank god! I spent all day in the hosptal with him yesterday and today he is home in bed unable to move and drugged up to the eyeballs for the pain. There is nothing that can be done for him except pain relief. It was such a stressful weekend, luckily L is having a few days with the inlaws so she doesnt have to see her dad in such pain and i am playing reluctant nurse maid (although i have very little patience with ill people, i know thats harsh) On a lighter note, i bought some very nice new dresses and some patent navy blue shoes on Sunday and the sun is still shining. Hope you had a good weekend X

This last week has been crazy busy! I am bag blogger :(

Here is some of what iv been up to over the last few days.........

Iv been on a hen weekend in Bath, shopping, lunch, dinner and then here

The bath themae Spa. A strange but lovely experience and would certainly do it again.

Iv been squealing with excitement when i saw the new fabric that the Autumn/Winter 2010 rain macs will be made out of!! Cats, roses, pink, Oh My!!

Iv been snapping little bits of inspiration for my home on my little travels. Love the brick work, the simple old painting and the propped up ballet shoe.

Loving that my cats after a year of introducing the new kitten are finally getting on and i even caught them sharing a bowl of food.

Iv also been out buying A/W 2010 shoes for the shop, i always gasp when i walk into this studio.

Here is my favorite pair, softest suede, a sole that molds to your feet for ultra comfort and a super high heel. Cant believe I'm saying this but role on Autumn so i wear these!!!

I also played super mum and made L a 70's flower child costume with 2 hours notice so she could go to a school party to celebrate the school turning 40 years old. I have never sewn so fast in all my life. L was thrilled with her look and she won best costume.
So that's been my week. I'm glad to say I'm back and blogging and life is calming down for a while. Super excited about easter! time at home and lots of chocolate. Yay! Hope you're having a good week lovely people? x

Last week i brought home an old damaged chandelier from the shop which has been festering in the stock room for quite some time. It isn't electrical, you put candles in it and it's black with lots of crystal beads. Some of the beads are broken or missing but i thought it would make a lovey garden ornament to hang above the table and chairs. I was going to take a nice photo to show you it hanging in the garden but i cant find anywhere to hang it from. We do have large trees but they are at the bottom of the garden which is quite overgrown and slightly infested with grass snakes (urgh!) Bear with me while i have a little think about where i can hang it and then I'll show you :) Here are some lovely images from the web to satisfy you. X

The weekend just passed was lovely and spring like. Mr ER and I spent most of Sunday tidying up the garden, pulling weeds and planning what we are going to plant and grow. I'm certainly coming around to the idea of growing some vegetables and herbs, and this is moi who cant even grow a house plant without killing it. This new found gardening confidence has emerged because on Sunday i found some new pale green shoots on a hydrangea i was convinced i had killed. I am so happy that the hydrangea plant has survived and i now think i can tackle something a little more difficult like lettuces or runner bean plants, perhaps even a rose bush!! Anyway, i just saw these new products in the spring catalogue of Cox and Cox. How lovely are the wicker plant baskets and the planters? Must get some of these.

I'm sorry my posts have been a bit thin on the ground of late. I am currently a little consumed by my work and my life and hope to resurface very soon. Latest news.....i managed to have a half day off work on Monday so had lunch out with my mum and bought some daffodils for my window boxes to cheer myself up. I have had a fluey cold ever since so the daffodils didn't really work but they're pretty anyway. L started an after school club today which i have been very anxious about but she absolutely loved it! Now i come to think about it and wonder why i felt so worried as there is nothing L loves more then playing with her friends, dancing, playing computer games and eating crumpets so she is thrilled with her new club (phew).

The Tooth Fairy is visiting our house tonight. L lost her very first tooth last night! She has been very anxious about it happening and whilst wobbling her bottom tooth she would ask 'when my tooth falls out will i still be able to talk?' and 'will i still be able to eat?' Unfortunately her tooth finally fell out whilst she was asleep, this means we cant find it! I promised L that i would find the tooth while she was at school but I'm now sure she must have swallowed it. I phoned my mum in a bit of a panic, thinking perhaps i can make a fake tooth to use for the tooth fairy and she may have an idea of how to make it but no....mum is a life saver! She dug around in her old keepsake box and pulled out my very first tooth which was sellotaped to a letter i had written to the tooth fairy. It is a little gross that my tooth which is 25 years old is lying under my daughters pillow but it is doing the job and L Will never know (until i tell her when she's in her 20's) It's a bit sad that i wont get to save her first tooth to show her when she's older, my mum wants mine back asap (for some odd reason)I got L to write a little letter to the tooth fairy as well, so in another 25 years time i can get her letter out and have a little cry about how grown up she is like my mum did today.

All I can say is i'm sorry for leaving you all for a whole week! I am still alive, in fact London was great except my car was broken into and i had my ipod and satnav stolen from the glove compartment, Grrr, damn thieves! How do they expect me to find my way back to the Motorway without a satnav and a smashed window :( The car ride was a noisy one!

I am fine except i am all consumed with the stress disease, i am so busy right now it's ridiculous. Last week was hassel after hassel, we also had a fashion show friday night which was what was keeping me up til 2am every night last week. Things should be better this week, i have lots of photo's to show you and things to share. I shall be back, promise X Happy Monday X

Just thought I would let you know, today Mr Eden Rose and I are in London. We are buying for the shop, well i'm buying he is coming along for the ride and a quick trip to covent garden. Weekend was a busy one, L's birthday, Party and meals out, family and friend visits much more, will tell more when i have some time this week. Hope you enjoy your Monday, Back tomorrow X

I have spent the entire morning in between important work stuff of course ;) salivating over the Toast Spring 2010 Catalogue. Er....how gorgeous!!?? Just love the styling and the soft colours and the clothes and the way the models look so relaxed and effortless and well ok, i love everything.
